Published biweekly, the COVID-19 education team sentiment snapshot highlights information drawn from a survey conducted every two weeks in an effort to gather on-the-ground intelligence from our education team to assist all our stakeholders (students, Universities, Agents, etc.) in preparing for the uncertainty surrounding the ongoing COVID-19 situation. This snapshot presents the insights from a survey conducted with our education team in India from November 9 – November 22 and captures how the sentiments have evolved in the past two weeks.

We surveyed 28 of our in-country representatives for various Universities across Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America

Top Student Queries

  • The major focus of the education team these past two weeks has been Conversion (82%), Agent Fairs (61%), Student Counselling (61%), Planning/Research (57%), and Engaging Stakeholders (57%)
  • 54% of our education team attends  1-2 agent fairs daily
  • 43% of our team has participated in panels in the past two weeks
  • For reaching out to students for undergraduate programs, 50% of the education team is focussing on special agent events and 7% by career seminars by counsellors
  • 25% of the education team suggests that one of the major challenges for online events is that there are so many of them to attend. This according to them is also contributing to their fatigue (18%). 20% of them also suggests that the quality of students attending the event is not very good either
  • While working with high schools, the education team suggests that major challenges they faced are delay in high school exam results, a low number of students for UG programs, student’s webinar fatigue and overall uncertainty
  • The education team suggests that while working with agents, the major challenges they faced are acquiring quality studentsengaging studentsdemotivated agents, a large number of agent eventsdeferral quests, and overall uncertainty
  • We noticed an increase in the number of Visa related queries (79%), the team still seems to be receiving a high number of Deferral/refund related queries/requests (79%), University’s preparedness for COVID-19 (71%) 
  • 55% of the education team suggests that campuses will be fully open in September 2021, while 14% suggest March 2021 and June 2021
  • 82% of the education team suggests that the institutions they support are looking for local partners in India to run cohorts
  • The education team suggests that Canada (43%), UK (25%) and New Zealand (18%), have done a good job of managing and communicating around the impact of COVID-19
