Executive director and head of education at Sannam S4, Lakshmi Iyer told The PIE News the decision should help IITs to attract the top international students from South Asian and African countries, in particular.
Organised by market-entry experts, Sannam S4 and the US–India Strategic Partnership Forum, the day-long event was deemed successful in developing paths for greater cooperation between US and Indian higher education.
The US-India Knowledge Exchange -an initiative of market entry specialist Sannam S4 and the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) – will convene the leading minds from the two countries in academia, innovation, public policy, the private sector, and non-profit organisations.
Commenting on the news, Lakshmi Iyer, executive director and head of Education at market entry specialists Sannam S4, told The PIE that the program is “a step in the right direction” and needs to be considered in the broader context of India’s higher education policies shifting to internationalisation.
The first U.S. Business Center is a custom built facility designed to house new and early stage U.S. entrants to the Indian market. Based in central Mumbai, the Center combines world-class office facilities with in-house provision of the key market entry services required by small or medium-sized U.S. companies, universities, non-profit organizations, or trade associations as they enter and expand in India.
